Jim Reber – ICBA Securities

Jim Reber is President and CEO of ICBA Securities, a full-service broker/dealer based in Memphis, Tennessee.  He has been involved in investment banking at various levels for over 20 years. Jim’s background includes a stint as a Senior Auditor at Ernst & Whinney (now Ernst & Young).  Jim became associated with ICBA Securities and its clearing broker, Vining Sparks, in 1990 through Vining Sparks’ merger with Union Planters Investment Bankers Group.   Jim first worked as a consultant in ICBA Securities’ Portfolio Strategies Department.  Beginning in 1992 he worked as an NASD registered representative with ICBA Securities, and counted among his clients over 100 community banks, for whom he provided portfolio analytics and trade execution services.  Jim was named President and CEO in 2005.

Jim has authored numerous articles for trade publications and is a frequent speaker at both national and state banking conventions.  He also conducts industry seminars on topics ranging from Asset/Liability management and accounting/regulatory issues to fixed-income product analysis.  He writes a monthly investment column for Independent Banker magazine and numerous other trade journals.  He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst.  Jim serves on the Board of Regents of Paul W. Barret School of Banking.  Jim holds a BS degree in Accounting from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee, where he is also a member of the Board of Trustees.
